Using Portis

Connecting using Portis is one of the easiest methods to get started on DeversiFi. Portis is a user friendly web based wallet with features designed for beginning users. It allows you to purchase crypto for fiat directly from your wallet.

What is Portis?

Portis is a web-based, Ethereum and ERC20 token wallet that makes it possible to access your wallet from anywhere without any additional installations. It also allows you to buy cryptocurrencies using fiat money directly inside your wallet, making it easier for you to get started. While it belongs among the most user friendly wallet solutions out there, it is currently not as secure as alternative options such as hardware wallets.

1. Getting started with Portis

To begin, you will need to register an account at https://www.portis.io/. Your newly created wallet is immediately encrypted in your device with the password of your selection.

Once done, proceed to app.deversifi.com and begin the on-boarding process.

The account registration can also be initiated at the onboarding section at DeversiFi. Select Portis as you preferred method of connection and click Connect Portis. A new pop-up window will open, asking you to log in or register a new account. (see screenshot below)

Note: as with any wallet, please make sure you write down the recovery phrase you obtain when registering a new Portis account.

2. Connecting Portis to DeversiFi

To connect, select Portis as the desired method and click “connect Portis”. You’ll then be asked to log-in to your Portis account in order to access your wallet. From there, you can proceed with the on-boarding process by following the step by step instructions.

3. Trading with Portis

Trading with Portis is almost identical to any other browser (e.g. Metamask) or web based wallet. You will be asked to confirm transactions or sign messages when placing orders through a Portis pop-up:

Note: There is an upcoming feature of Portis, where you can check an "I trust this application" checkbox. This would result in Portis automatically signing all future messages for you, making the user experience more convenient.
